Weekly Cashew Report: Week 31 2025

Brazil

Weather: Widespread dryness across key growing areas. Campo Maior, Piauí is at risk with low rainfall. Ongoing dryness will require close attention. Chapadinha, Maranhão and Aquiraz, Ceará also face dry spells, though with slightly cooler temps offering partial relief.  Cashews Weather Information – CropGPT*

Crop Forecast: Yield expected to decrease 15% to 20%, this is driven by the poor rain combined with it now being the “off year” of the biannual cycle.

News:  Brazil’s exports value is due to increase with a CAGR of 3.8% over the next 5 years, and pricing may dip in Q4 2025.

Indonesia

Weather – Mamuju Utara, Sulawesi faces a dry week with rainfall far below average; temperatures remain steady.  Jembrana, Bali also dry, with low rainfall and marginal cooling.

Merauke, Papua saw heavy rain; Malang, East Java is drier than average with slightly cooler temps.

Tanzania  

Weather: Dryness continues across key cashew regions. Mtwara and Lindi saw below-average rainfall with no major temperature shifts, but cumulative dryness may require monitoring.
Bagamoyo received near-average rainfall, offering some relief. Tanga and Songea Rural also trended dry, with Songea notably below normal. Cashews Weather Information – CropGPT

News:  Exports have surged in the past 12 months, up 141%.  Tanzania Association of Cashew Processors (TACP) is calling for tax incentives and subsidised loans to improve processing capacity. Cashew production is expected to increase with a CAGR of 4.5%.
