Benin

Weather: Northern/central hubs flipped wetter: Kandi 51.0 mm vs 17.0 mm LTA (+34 mm, +200%) and Bembèrèkè 52.4 mm vs 29.7 mm (+22.7 mm, +76%), while Boukoumbé ran below normal (36.5 mm vs 48.9 mm, −12.4 mm, −25%). Glazoué also trailed average at 43.5 mm vs 54.8 mm (−11.4 mm, −21%). Compared with last week’s north–central dryness, the north turned decisively wetter while parts of the central belt stayed drier. Brazil

Weather: Heat is the standout inland: Piripiri averaged 34.0 °C vs 30.8 °C LTA (+3.1 °C) and Campo Maior 34.8 °C vs 31.7 °C (+3.1 °C), with Mossoró also ~+2.2 °C; rainfall stayed negligible and near LTA across Ceará–Piauí. On the Bahia coast, light deficits weren’t material (e.g., Ilhéus 13.6 mm vs 22.6 mm). Compared with last week’s mixed coast, the key change is a stronger, more widespread inland heat signal. Yield 2024 (harvest year): 358 kg/ha

Forecast 2025: 290 to 300 kg/ha (no change from last week – expected to be off-year in alternate bearing cycle).

 

Cambodia

Weather: Broad, material drying across the northeast/central belt: Andoung Meas 52.9 mm vs 80.9 mm LTA (−28.0 mm, −35%), Chhloung 65.5 mm vs 91.0 mm (−25.4 mm, −28%), and Stueng Trang 65.0 mm vs 80.9 mm (−15.9 mm, −20%); temperatures were ~2 °C below LTA in many districts. India

Weather: Konkan/Kerala remained much drier: Ratnagiri 5.7 mm vs 66.3 mm LTA (−60.6 mm, −91%) and Sindhudurg 19.0 mm vs 74.4 mm (−55.4 mm, −74%); Goa and Udupi were also well below norms. On the east coast, Ganjam 37.5 mm vs 65.7 mm (−28.2 mm, −43%) and Puri 36.7 mm vs 66.2 mm (−29.6 mm, −45%). Forecast 2026: 784,000 tons (slight decrease from last week due to relatively dryer conditions).

 

Indonesia

Weather: West Nusa Tenggara turned wetter and much cooler: Mataram 30.6 mm vs 18.7 mm LTA (+11.9 mm, +64%) with mean temps −5.8 °C vs LTA; Bali’s Jembrana was materially drier at 15.8 mm vs 28.7 mm (−12.9 mm, −45%). In Sulawesi, Mamuju Utara slipped below average (57.8 mm vs 68.8 mm, −11.1 mm), while East Java’s Malang also underperformed (19.5 mm vs 33.3 mm, −13.8 mm, −41%). Forecast 2025:  384 kg/ha (no change from last week).

 

Ivory Coast

Weather: Deficits lingered in the east/northeast: Bondoukou (Zanzan) 31.3 mm vs 44.6 mm LTA (−13.3 mm, −30%), while central–northern hubs were near norms (Bouaké ~50.4 mm vs 50.9 mm; Odienné 39.7 mm vs 44.5 mm). Korhogo posted a slight surplus (43.7 mm vs 39.0 mm, +4.6 mm). Versus last week’s broad northern shortfalls, anomalies were less uniform, with the driest signal concentrated in Zanzan. Forecast 2026: Early season projections indicate a decrease of 5 to 10% (no change from last week).

 

Nigeria

Weather: Widespread rainfall deficits across east and southwest: Nsukka 39.8 mm vs 70.6 mm LTA (−30.8 mm, −44%) and Enugu East 36.5 mm vs 65.3 mm (−28.8 mm, −44%); in the southwest, Ibadan NW 33.0 mm vs 46.6 mm (−13.6 mm, −29%) and Ogbomosho North 27.1 mm vs 43.8 mm (−16.7 mm, −38%). Tanzania

Weather: Generally near seasonal rainfall ith no material anomalies: Tanga 15.6 mm vs 17.6 mm LTA (−2.0 mm), Muheza 22.9 mm vs 24.8 mm (−1.9 mm), and Bagamoyo 22.6 mm vs 19.2 mm (+3.4 mm). In the far south (Mtwara/Masasi), totals were slightly above LTAs, but this is insignificant as LTAs are currently in the 2-3mm range.  Compared with last week’s notably dry northeast corridor, conditions moderated toward average. Vietnam

Weather: Mixed but notable: Đồng Xoài (Bình Phước) surged wetter at 127.3 mm vs 86.2 mm LTA (+41.0 mm, +48%) with mean temps ~−2.6 °C vs LTA, while Pleiku (Central Highlands) was materially drier at 63.9 mm vs 93.8 mm (−29.9 mm, −32%). Buôn Ma Thuột stayed slightly below LTA for rain and ~−2.7 °C cooler. Relative to last week’s widespread deficits, the Southeast hub turned wet while parts of the Highlands remained subdued.
